Around the Area Activities

  • There are lots of hiking trails around Growing Faith Farms. Some of the best trails can be found at Kerr Scott Lake which is a short drive away.
  • If you love waterfall hikes, Cascades Trail & Waterfall is one of our favorites and is right around the corner.
  • Stone Mountain State Park is another beautiful park where you could easily spend a few days exploring.
  • Foothills Outdoor Adventures has kayaks and canoes for rent. Want to do something even more unique? Rent a river tub and do a day float with up to 8 people.
  • Want to take a pontoon boat out on the lake? Skyline Marina is awesome to work with and they offer ½ day and full day rentals.

Warrior Creek Mountain Bike Trails is a great ride if you like Mountain Biking. This area has several additional mountain biking trails.

Wilkesboro Dragway – Want to explore some good old racing? Come check out the dragway. 

The brushy mountains are full of wineries. Some of our favorites include: Raffaldini Vineyards, Piccione Vineyards, and Stardust Cellars, Windy Gap Vineyards, Elkin Creek Winery, Rag Apple Lassie and more

Do you like apples? Check out Perry Lowe Orchards and get some fresh North Carolina apples while in season.

Wilkes Heritage Museum

  • Copper Barrel is a local distillery where you can find locally made moonshine.
  • The Yellow Deli in Hiddenite is an outstanding restaurant with a unique history  
  • Call Family Distillery has the best Shine in the state and has a great entertainment schedule for evenings at their Mash House.
  • Dooley’s Grill & Tavern has a great menu and environment. Enjoy a nice lunch and then stroll around downtown Wilkesboro and explore the shops.
  • Dixie Donuts is one of our favorite places to grab an amazing, sweet treat. They make their donuts fresh daily and have ice cream and snow cones as well.
